Yeas is the whole name of the place. It would be classed as sort of near
Lilydale in that you can go through Lilydale to get to Yea - and would, from
where I live. Frola would be at least half an hour, maybe an hour, of
driving at good c0ountry speeds - somewhere between 80 and 100k per hr.

If you look at a map of Victoria, and fine the road between Melbourne and
Sydney, and find Lilydale, and John up perhaps Lilydale and Seymour - well
Yea is to the right of that line.

It's pronounced YAY as in hay etc by the way.

Others will be able to give you far more detailed directions - I haven't
been there for years. There used to be a train to it but it was cancelled
probably over 20, 30 years ago.

Dawn (Croydon, Melbourne - not too far from Lilydale)

Hi,

I live in NZ and am not familiar with Victorian placenames. Is Yea an
abbreviation please? And is it anywhere near Lilydale?

Thanks
Lynley
