Dear Listers

If you have anti virus software installed, viruses which increase at this
time of the year are just a pest.
If you do not, they can be a disaster, as I have heard several people lament
over the last 2 weeks.

The Snow White virus is rampant at the moment. In the last week I have
received it 5 times, and it's impossible to tell who is unknowingly passing
it on. Don't panic - the Lists are safe because Rootsweb blocks attachments.

To help those who don't have any anti virus software, thanks to Meryl Yost
of the Tasmanian List, here is a list
of some of the sites with available software, some of which are free and
work very well.

http://www.quickheal.com - seems to be good with e-mail varieties

http://www.mcafee.com

http://www.free-av.com

http://antivirus.cai.com/

This last one is the one I use, free, and for which I have an update icon on
my screen - one click and it updates.
