Hello Elwyn,
Thankyou for your reply. No, I am not getting "Millewa" mixed up with
anything else, but obviously there have been two places with that name
...... which I didn't know, so thankyou for telling me about your one.
"My" one is/was an area opened up for settlement very close to Echuca in the
early 1870s ...... am sitting looking at an old Lands Department plan of it
as I type, with "Parish of Millewa" written on it. Also my grandmother's
birth certificate for the same area, in 1876, has "Parish of Millewa" on it
...... as does her father's death certificate in 1879. There doesn't seem
to be anything there these days except farms, but at one stage it had a
school and there was a Methodist Church there.
Perhaps someone else on the List may also be researching it also ...... so
here's hoping!
Kindest Regards ...... Corinne.
