I'm a new subscriber, and hope someone may be able to help with any information regarding my grandfather's family prior to coming to Birchip.
What is known: Archibald McDonald went to Birchip ca 1893,(from Gawler, South Australia?), married 1896 Maud Matilda Wilkinson (Maryborough, Vic). They lived in a house in Birchip called "Clarendon" and had 4 ch'n. He was a Wheat Agent, working for Darling & Son. He was well-known in the town. He died there in 1905 and is in buried Birchip Cemetery
What I'm unable to find is his life / family before coming to Victoria... any suggestions?
