Goroke News.
A very old and well known resident passed away on Friday, 25th ult., at the
age of 76 years, in the person of Mr. P. DOWLING, of Ozenkadnook. Deceased
landed in Melbourne in 1864, and went to Ararat where he worked at the
baking trade, he also lived at Hamilton and Coleraine. Leaving there about
30 years ago he went to Dopewora and took up land on which he resided until
his death. Deceased leaves a wife and ten children, mostly adults. The
daughters are Mrs. FITZGERALD (Harrow), Mrs. PARFITT (Horsham), Mrs. COX
(Gymbowen), and Miss Alice (who resides at home). The sons are William,
Peter, Robert, Timothy, Joseph and George. Two other sons, James and
Patrick, died some few years ago. The funeral took place to the Goroke
cemetery on Monday last, the Rev. Father JONES officiating at the grave. Mr.
J. C. McDONALD carried out the mortuary arrangements.
