OK Folks - Here's the list as I have it. If I've left anyone off let me
know.
Eileen Sullivan has a partial list and some info on the BLOOMER - 21.11.1854
to Portland Bay
Mike has the list for NEW ZEALANDER - 30.11.1853 to Portland Bay
Jeanine has a partial list for the TASMANIA - 23.11.1851 to Portland Bay
Bryan Keddy's HIES Site at
http://sites.netscape.net./bryankeddy/HIES/edward1.html has the following
shipping lists -
MANGERTON, BORNEUF, ARAMINTA, MEDINA, GEORGIANA, ONTARIO, TICONDEROGA,
BLANCHE, MARMION, ALLISON, LOUISA, PRISCILLA, ARABIAN, THAMES HMS HERCULES,
BRITISH QUEEN, PANAMA, NEW ZEALANDER, SIR ALLAN MCNAB, UTOPIA, ARABIAN,
EDWARD JOHNSTONE, HORNET, JAMES FERNIE, DERRY CASTLE, SWITZERLAND, ROYAL
ALBERT and PERSIAN.
If you are interested in any of these go to the site and check the dates on
his excellent table.
Perhaps, as Daryl suggested, if you're visiting the PRO in the New Year you
might think about getting lists of the ships on which your ancestors
emigrated. Somewhere I have the list for the INDIAN OCEAN (1854) but since
my filing cabinet is the floor I just can't lay my hands on it! But I
will......
The late and great Bev Rundell at Portland had some one page summaries of
many of the ships that berthed there, gleaned from newspapers and other
sources of the time. Copies of these are freely available to researchers as
far as I know.
Cheers
