Thanks Colin for your kind words. I have had a busy weekend and hope to get
a little more done quite soon. For now Thelma.
The Paterson I speak of is ROBERT BRAND PATERSON who married 1861 to Mary
Jane AITKIN out of V.D.L. He was Manager of the Bank of Victoria in
Warrnambool and (I think) first President of the Warrnambool Shire Council
c.1863 ?
He went into partnership in Manifold and Bostock Stores after the death of
my Gr.Grandfather George Bostock in 1858. The store was on the site of the
present day Art Gallery in Warrnambool. Mary Jane Aitkin was a sister to the
three Aitkin girls who married Augustus, Ernest and James Bostock over 15
years. All the Aitkin girls Margaret, Lucy, Alice and Mary Jane were
daughter of Mary Meacock (Manifold) Aitkin. That same Bond Store manifold
and Bostock became Aitkin and Paterson and other family names over time - on
the corner of Liebig and Timor Street Warrnambool - now opposite the Council
Chambers.
To our knowledge Robert Brand Paterson had one son R.B.P who died 1919 and a
daughter called Little Maggie. Mary Jane Paterson 1837/1867 aged 30 years.

Until I get back to Mr.Alexander Thomson......Thelma (Bostock) Birrell in
Queensland.
