Hi all,
In 1868, John Bateson (born 1833 in Fowlmere, Cam, UK) married an Irish
lady, Mary FIEGHERY. Her parents were John Fieghery and Julia CASH from
Clare in Ireland. John Bateson became a miner at the McIntyres diggings
near Dunnoly in Victoria soon after they married. By 1874, John and Mary
Bateson were back in the Western Districts with his brother living at
Henty. From here John and Mary later became farmers in Miram where John
died by drowning in 1903. What happened to Mary Bateson nee FIEGHERY is
the mystery. I have found no re-marriage and there is no death record
for her in Victoria. I do not believe any exist in NSW. W.A. or SA
either. If anyone can help me please contact me.
Regards
Lyn Bateson
