>Dear friends,

Then there is also the ongoing controversy about one Mr. FISCALINI who was
supposedly awarded a V.C. at Beersheba in WW1. It was taken off him, as
were all decorations at that time when it was discovered that the members
of the 8th Light Horse - of which my grandfather was one - had been found
guilty of throwing a number of local people down the village well and
dropping a large grind stone on top of them, thus sealing their fate.

>And I think henceforth the FISCALINI name was well known in Ballarat. A
>Monsignor, a Redemptorist priest and a Sister of Mercy among the

>great musician and a great lady. Father Fisc the Redemptorist had a great

>legs were tattered. She told him to bring them along next time he came and
>she'd get one of the nuns to mend them for him. He reached for the button at
>his waist and said, "Here you are Sister. You can take them now." Needless
>to say she made a hasty retreat amid his howls of laughter.
