Subject: [AUS-VIC-West] Old photos HARVEY family Port Fairy

Hello to old and new listers
I have recently been given family portraits from both sides of my father's family. Unfortunately neither have names. My 89 year old Dad thinks he's identified his mother in the Harvey family portrait which looks as if it is in a natural park setting and possibly at Port Fairy because the parents settled there after migrating from Cornwall in 1854. (His Mum and all the children were born in Australia and she was 42 when she gave birth to him in 1912 and he was her only child.) Priscilla Harvey (Dad's Mum) was the youngest daughter in the family and looks quite young although obviously teen/adult in the photo. No-one is smiling in the picture and it is very posed. Does this help to date the picture?
The females all have high necked tops (the sort I need to find now to hide the wrinkled neck!) Who would have taken this sort of family picture with two females sitting either side on cane chairs, others holding bits of plants and leaves, a lone male holding a cane (He doesn't look debilitated. Would this have been an accessory rather than necessity?) and a dog in the foreground?
I'll be interested to hear of any knowledge others can bring to my mystery No 1. I'll tell you about the other one later!
Regards
