Thanks for that Daryl. It must have given you quite a headache sorting that
one out. That's a very interesting piece of social history for the 1840s.
What was the policy in Germany about divorce at that time? It must have been
a fairly amicable agreement if they then all emigrated together. Have you
managed to find out any details? No doubt I would not be the only one
interested in the background story.
