I have been sorting some of my files today, to share some of the data of the
sideline families, all of whom I love very much.
However, while reading some papers today I found the story of the MR.DOY who
is noted in Augustus Bostock's diaries regularly.
I have no idea who sent it to me, or when, BUT this is what it says:-
Victoria and Its Metropolis - Past and Present...
"Mrs.Elizabeth DOY, Garvoc, born in Staffordshire England, and arrived in
Australia January 1853. Her late husband Mr.William DOY was born in Norfolk
in England and came to Victoria in 1848.
After working for some time for Mr.Thomas Bostock he rented farmn near
Warrnambool from Thomas manifold and carried on farming pursuits there for
14 years, before he removed to Allansford..."
end quote...........
Very interesting !!!! after just being Mr.Doy for a long time.
Sincerely in Searching... Thelma (Bostock) Birrell in Queensland.
