Happy new year! I hope this email finds you well and managing to keep
cool.

I am seeking help re the DWYER and RUSSELL families of Casterton and
Crossley and districts. I am hoping to make contact with anyone
connected with the following members of the Dwyer, Russell, (and Ryan)
families, who originally settled in the Western District of Victoria.

DWYER: John Joseph DWYER (1838-1893) and Julia RUSSELL (1850-1921),
both from Tipperary, Ireland. Married in Koroit, Victoria, 24 April
1866. Resided in Casterton, Victoria. Children: Thomas Russell Dwyer,
Annie Cecelia Doig (nee Dwyer), Michael James Dwyer, Mary Esler (nee
Dwyer), Bridget Dwyer, Agnes Helena Paatsch (nee Dwyer), Julia Margaret
Dwyer, John Joseph Dwyer, Daniel Stanislau Dwyer, Edmund Dwyer, James
Dwyer, Franic Dwyer and Margaret Dwyer. Julia RUSSELL was my great
grand-aunt. She died in Geelong, her husband John in Warrion. Relevant
Victorian place names, where descendants of this Russell and Dwyer
marriage may still live, are: Casterton, Warrion, Geelong, Ballarat,
Wangaratta, Beechworth, Colac, Melbourne and Caulfield.

RUSSELL: Michael RUSSELL (c.1814-1888) and Annie DWYER (c.1824-1900),
both from Tipperary, Ireland. Settled in Crossley and Killarney
districts in Victoria. Children: Margaret Russell, Daniel Russell,
Julia Dwyer (nee Russell), Bridget Ryan (nee Russell), Patrick John
Russell, Mary Russell, James Russell, Michael Francis Russell, Ellen
Russell and Thomas Russell. Bridget RYAN was my great grandmother, and
married Martin RYAN at Saint John's Catholic Church, Sandford, in 1873.
Relevant Victorian place names, where descendants of this Russell and
Dwyer marriage may still live, are: Casterton, Crossley, Killarney,
Warrnambool, Geelong, Colac, Port Fairy, and Tower Hill.

I am trying to ascertain, amongst other things, where in Tipperary,
Ireland, the RUSSELL family came from, and where in Kilkenny, Ireland,
the Ryan family came from.

If anyone is connected to these families I would love to hear from you!
