The death took place on Thursday last, at Cunningham street, Northcote, at
the age of 83 years, of Mr John Mackinnon, formerly a well known and
respected resident of Terang. Mr Mackinnon arrived in the colony in 1839,
and was therefore a colonist for 60 years. He was formerly largely
connected with pastural pursuits in the western district, having in company
with two others taken up the country on which sprang up the old Timboon
township, (Camperdown). He also at one time possessed an excellent property
at Casterton. One of the deceased daughters, Miss Jessie Mackinnon, was a
long time member of the teaching staff at Terang State School.

I would be pleased to hear from any descendants, I have heaps of info. and
pics.

Thanks Andrew Mackinnon 3930
