SS Chance delivered my Mcinerney ancestor to Belfast in 1855 I believe.

I have been trying to trace a branch of the family and found them still at
St Kilda [Electoral roll for - Isaac] in 1949. While in Sydney I also
checked 1950 which was missing at the time of making the microfiche and 1951
but they had moved. Since returning home I thought that it is possible, the
brothers John Valentine Rowan & Ralph Rowan might have moved to Warrnambool
after an Uncle died in this area in 1949 and left them in his will.
I am hoping someone on the list might be able to please confirm if they did?
Thank you
Karen

My Fry ancestors in the ship "Chance" arrived in Belfast, as it was then,
in 1857. I have been told that only four immigrant ships came direct to
Belfast, authorities then decided that the harbour was unsuitable.
However I have not seen proof of that statement, or a list of the
ships.
Recently another lister mentioned the "Clara", arriving in 1854

Thanks Norma,
It seems a number of ships did disemberk passengers at Port Fairy. The ship my ancestors came on was the BALNAGUITH in 1857. Doing a google search I found reference to another family who travelled on the same voyage of the Balnaguith and it said that they landed at Port Fairy.
Thanks to all who took the time to rely to me.
Regards
Leigh
