>>By way of introduction I am Edward Grant, secretary of The Duke of
>>Yorks Royal Military School OBA Downunder. The School was founded by
>>HRH Frederick, Duke of York in 1803 and is situated in Dover, Kent,
>>UK. I am trying to get some information on a Frederick George Hall,
>>an old boy from that school who came to Australia in the early
>>1800s. He was a school master in Goroke in 1916 and joined the
>>Australian army in that year serving with the 8th Light Horse Regt.
>>He was killed in action at Gallipoli on the 7th of August 1915 and
>>is buried at Loan Pine, Gallipoli. His name is inscribed on the
>>School Chapel wall of remembrance in Dover and at the Australian War
>>memorial in Canberra. If there is a war memorial in Goroke I would
>>like to know if his name is inscribed on it and any other
>>information that may be available on Mr Hall in that town, also
>>whether there are any descendants of his still living in the area. I
>>am trying to put together an article on ex Duke of York boys who
>>came to Australia pre WW1 for our historical records.
>>
>>Yours in anticipation
