Dear Daryl,
No there doesn't appear to be a link between the Brays but I won't say one
won't be found some time in the future. William Bray did arrive in SA with
his widowed mother and 4 sisters, one of whom was my gr gr grandmother. The
sisters all remained in SA in the Adelaide Hills, Bordertown and Kapunda and
William married in SA and the first of his 20 children were also born around
Mt Lofty. William's father was also a William Bray b 1805 died St Austell
1844. William who died in Cornwall in 1844 where he was tin mining had a
brother John Penhall BRAY b 1808 who also came to SA. I haven't found any
Thomas Brays in these early generations. The first Thomas I can find is one
born 1873 Lexton died 1955 St Arnaud.
I can't find any PROUT or MAHON entries in my family tree either so don't
have any known links so far.Perhaps one will turn up in the future.
Regards
David
