Hi To Everyone Once Again,
Many thanks for the replies and the excellent leads, I will chase them up to see if they can shed any more light on the subject.
We were amazed to find 5 single men (one of which was my great grandfather) and four families on the same ship from the same small town (pop. approx 200) and we were looking for the reason for all of them leaving at once, the year was 1852. We have found other families from this same village making the same voyage and landing in Melbourne and all over a six year period. The majority of the families and single men ended up in VIC possibly following the gold rush. We wanted to make contact with any other people out there who's family may have been from the same villages mentioned in my previous email. It was a big ask but to those who replied I thank you very much.
Regards,
John
