Dear Daryl

Thankyou for this clue. Maybe I can retrieve Patrick's Death
Certificate and work back from there and have a better result as to how long
they were in
The colony and thus how they got here. Here's hoping. Thankyou for this
"straw". I am truly
Grasping.

Your sincerely

Colleen Cox

Hello Colleen

There is a clue about the arrival of the 5 MAHONEY brothers (Michael, James,
Timothy, John & Patrick) in the Coleraine or Apsley area in a 1902
death notice
from the "Hamilton Spectator".

"Hamilton Spectator, 23 Oct 1902

Death Notice...

MAHONEY.
On the 17th Oct, 1902, at Coleraine, Patrick MAHONEY, late of Gritjurk, in
his
62nd year. Deeply regretted, RIP. The last survivor of five brothers
who arrived
about 1860, John going to Apsley, and the others to the Coleraine district,
he
died after an operation for an internal complaint. An RC, buried 19 Oct
1902,
he has a son and four daughters, all adults.

Daryl Povey
