G'day Melinda,
You have to actually go in to the PROs City Search Rooms to view the wills
and associated documents, then you have to order the photocopies. With the
current situation, you can PRE-ORDER via email, especially as you're not
from Melbourne. I live at Ocean Grove and do this as I can't afford to wait
4 hours for the courier to deliver them from North Melbourne or to come back
a second time to view the records!
So, go to their web page
http://www.prov.vic.gov.au/pservice/4-4.htm
and use the email address at the bottom (ask.prov) - give them ALL the
details you can and they will actually look up the correct VPRS numbers /
references. Tell them when you will be in and they will have them there.
If you're going early in the morning, be aware that the first courier from
the archives is about 9.30 am so if you want them before then, you need to
let them know.
Once you've looked at them, you can then order the photocopies - can take a
couple of weeks. It's worth paying the extra $2.50 or whatever it is to
have them posted straight to you - much easier than another visit!
Hope that helps ....... Susie Z

take for them to retreive the will? I live approx 3 hours from the city
centre, and with the price of petrol today, its expensive to keep making
return trips.
