Seeking other descendants of Jesse GEARD and Maria GOODFELLOW. Jesse was
(at various times) a tailor, a fruiterer and a Baptist minister. He was
born in Somerset, England, son of Thomas GEARD and Mary LONG. Maria GOODFELLOW,
his wife, was born in Somerset, dau of Thomas GOODFELLOW, coach builder,
and Esther BOND. Maria & Jesse were married 1845, London. Three of their
children (Bessie Maria, Samuel John and Thomas Charles) were born in Wincanton,
Somerset. In 1851, the family emigrated to Victoria, where a fourth child
(John Thomas) was born.

Bessie Maria GEARD m. Joseph Moss NORRIS (son of Henry NORRIS and Josephine
Elizabeth BALCHIN). Bessie and Joseph had fourteen children and lived in
Footscray for most of their married life. Joseph was a commercial traveller
and was for a time a Footscray city councillor. Bessie was involved with
church & charity work in Footscray.

Samuel John GEARD m. Susan MOWLEN in 1878. They had three children (May
Elizabeth, Muriel Constance and Charles Jesse)

John Thomas GEARD m. Catherine Williamson KENNEDY. They had four children
(Mabel Vivienne, Percy Victor, Basil Charles, and Percy Charles).
