Hello everyone,
Thanks to Diane Phillips' posting I am off to Georgetown for the weekend of November 13th FROM Queensland.
Very happy lass is me as I have wanted to go there for a very long time. My interests are Robert (the convict) BEAMS/ES who arrived with Lt. Col. Patterson in 1804 and married Susannah BRELSFORD and
James KELLY, wife Bridget and daughter Catherine who arrived in 1826. James was with the Royal Veteran Corps. His daughter Catherine married William MURPHY in Melbourne in 1839.
James got a grant of land at East Arm on retirement and the lovely Diane knows exactly where it is and also where he lived in Georgetown.....lucky me.
So if there anyone else going with connections to these families I would love to make contact with you and meet up on the Saturday. Also decided I am going to the Ball of the Centuries that evening. Don't want to miss any fun. On the Sunday I am off to the History Conference as well. So come on everyone if you have any connections to Georgetown don't miss this one.
Please let Diane Phillips know if you are going, as at the moment the organisers have no idea how many are going to turn up. Her email address is
See you on the 14th
Sally Flynn
