Hi List,
I am trying to help a friend whose ancestor John MILES, married Laurel
Burrows in Victoria on 12th Feb 1924.
His death cert states he had been in Australian states for 30 years, which
would make it approx 1923 that he arrived in Australia.
He died in Melbourne in 1953.
He joined the Mercantile marine in 1915-1918, [this is mentioned on his
Australian military record as jobs he had done in the past., it does not
state where he joined the marine or if he was even a seaman.
He was born in Fishguard Wales.registered in the Haverfordwest area, he was
born on 26th June 1901.
If anyone can help find when he went to Australia, it would be a big help.
