Subject: [CONVICT] Conditional Pardons?
Date: Tue, 22 May 2001 10:57:19 +1000

My great-grandfather, Joseph
Millard, born in Somerset England, arrived in
Western Australia on the "William Jardine" on the 1st August, 1852 as a
convict.

He is shown as due for a Ticket of Leave on the 17th March, 1855
and a Conditional Pardon the 5th November, 1859. I would appreciate your
advice on some reading for me on TL's and CP's applying to Western
Australia.

He was married here in Queensland in 1865. His Death Certificate says "40
years in Queensland". I cannot find his entry to Queensland by Ship about
1863. I presume that he came from Interstate.

I would appreciate your advice on my seeking information from Western
Australia on his Conditional Pardon.

Thanking you. Regards Joe Crane.
