Greetings to all,

I'm sorry to have taken so long to get this up.....

My name is Ron MacKenzie and I have been researching my ancestry for about
25 years and a Western Australian Genealogical Society member for around 12
years.

I have a theory that the law of genealogy is much like the law of combustion
(flame, oxygen, fuel - without all three, no fire). With my research the
triangle seems be: time, energy, money - and I always seem to be short of
one of them!

My major Convict interest is Henry George LONGMAN who arrived on 31 Jan 1852
aboard the MARION ex Plymouth. LONGMAN was convicted on 10 June 1848 for
stealing a calf and sentenced to ten years. He spent some time in prison,
then on the hulk STIRLING before being transported. On arrival he was
granted his TL, and later his CF (June 1858). LONGMAN left a wife and three
children in UK but fathered at least seven children after arrival in WA,
later marrying the mother of these children. The result of this was to
create two parallel LONGMAN families who, both in the UK and WA, continue to
add to the descendants of Henry George LONGMAN.

Regards,
Ron
