G'Day all

Rootsweb lists for WA Membership has slowly increased. Also some
may not be aware of what the lists cover. At Robin Hukyn's House
group on Monday night some were not aware these lists existed.

They were created to help those with similar interests in areas
or topics discuss and find out info more easily. Rootsweb lists are
free and advertised worldwide by MyFamily.com, Rootsweb.com, Ancestry.com
and Cyndy's List to name some. Similar lists also exist for other states.
Victoria and NSW having a number of Regional Lists.

AUS-WA-L Administered by Rob Nelson is a general list for WA

of Western Australia from the eastern outskirts of
Perth to Southern Cross and from Morawa in the North
to Wagin in the south and all towns in between.

"AUS-WA-CONVICT. A mailing list for anyone with a
genealogical interests in Convicts and their families
in Western Australia during the 19th Century and early
20th century.

These include those from NSW that came to Albany in 1826
Parkhurst Boys in the 1840's, Transportee's sent from the
British Empire to the Swan River Colony 1850-1868 and
WA colonial convicts pre 1900.

"AUS-WA-PENSIONER-GUARDS. A mailing list for anyone
with a genealogical interest in the Pensioner Guards
also Warders and their families in Western Australia
during the 19th Century as well as those in the later
Enrolled Pensioner Force.

These include those from the British Empire used
to escort prisoners on the Convict transports
to the Swan River Colony 1850-1868 and those sent
out later to add to their numbers. These also
include those that later formed the Enrolled
Pensioner Force.
