So many issues over cemeteries!!!!
I think it is more respect for the dead. But, people put headstones in
cemeteries as a memorial - it is in a public domain, so is therefore open
for everyones eyes. What about vandalism - photos and transcripts record the
headstones in their hopefully better form. I go to the cemeteries and see
markers moved by lawn mowers and that is not good, as sometimes headstones
are never erected and the records are lost in some cases.
Basically its public domain. Everyone around the world is transcribing or
photographing cemeteries - I think that speaks for itself. Also in ways I
think it is wrong to charge for public information, like making a profit
from CDs, but there is another side to that story to.
I for one am greatful for the contributions people make to trascribing
headstones - many of which are little cemeteries hidden away that genies
would never know about.
I have never been questioned about photographing in cemeteries either.erson
information out over the internet.
