Hi Linda

Sorry I do mean Rookwood.

Why I'm looking for a head stone was hoping for some extra info.

My son the daughter in law have just bought a derelict house in Carcoar NSW
the house was know as the magistrates house and they think it was built in
the 1860's this would mean that Lawrence (Laurence) Vance Dulhunty was the
Magistrate at the time.
He died at the Australia Club Sydney 23/10/1871
The Reg. General's Dep. gives the following info.

Lawrence Vance Dulhunty, formerly squatter, lately Police Magistrate, age 68
or 69 years, after many months illness. Son of John Dulhunty, Doctor of
Medicine, Buried 25th October 187 at Necropolis. Born Paignton, Devonshire,
England. About 45 or 46 years in the colonies.

We have not had the opportunity to get as yet to the Lands Dep. to look up
the old deeds.
Just thought the headstone might say the name of the house or something
else.

I also thought that this might be to early for Rookwood.
Also passing away at the Australia Club, Sydney there would be a cemetery
closer that Rookwood to be buried at.

many thaks
Ann
