This is rather a long shot, but I wondered if anyone had any information on an Alfred Stevens. Around the 1930s, some Australian relations sent my grandmother in England a newspaper cutting (I think it was probably the Sydney Morning Herald) about an Alfred Stevens who was being created a Judge. Alfred was a very common recurring name in my Stevens family, but then they are both fairly common names. However, apparently he looked the spitting image of my great uncle Alf (also Alfred Stevens). I think he was around the same age, too (50s). If anyone can point me in the right direction to find descendants of this man, maybe by way of an obituary I’d be very grateful. I wrote to the newspaper some months ago but had no reply, so I’m hoping someone on the List can help.
