Dear List,

I have a ggfather Thomas Moore born c1830 in supposedly Halifax in Nova
Scotia in Canada. He apparently came to Australia for a period of time,
possibly mid 1800s, had a family here, and then went to India. He worked for
the East India Railway in India from 1882 (as far as we can tell) to 1892
and died in 1904. One family older family member has recalled hearing a
conversation many many years ago about his surname possibly being Janson or
the like.

What we were told is that a man came from Australia (supposedly his son) to
Karmatar, Bengal in India after he died, and possibly named Robert Moore,
but we have no way of knowing.
