It has been a couple of years since I posted anything on this site.
Researching the names Dominicus, wife, Luciana (?) and son James LEVY. James was born June 10th or 12th, 1861. I have no information on his family. But I was told that he had at least one other sibling, a sister, but I do not know her name.
James' Intent to become an American Citizen and his Citizenship papers were not completely filled out so all I have is his name and that he was giving up his allegiance to the Emperor of Austria.
I think he may have emigrated in 1887. I have sent for 2 reels of passenger lists for that year so that I can start researching thru them. Also I know he was married in the United States in June 1887.
So far the only James LEVY I have found was living in Hamburg, Germany and applied for a passport January 4, 1887. Maybe this is my James LEVY.
If I would write to the parish, will they understand English? If there is a charge are they using Euro now and since I live in Virginia, where would I get the dollars exchanged for Euros? I would appreciate some guidance in this matter.
Thank you,
Marian L. Bonacci
