Hallo,

I am looking for my roots. I posess an old Austrian military passport
from 1779 stating that my ancestor Johann Ernest von Schuttenbach was
born in "Szambur" or "Szanobur" in Dalmatia. Because of the typicall
letter combination "Sz" I suppose that the Hungarian spelling of the
town/village name was used.
Nobody in the world has been able to help to find this place. Austrian
authorities do not have any records and state my family is a mystery.

Can anybody help me to find this place?
