One of the quickest ways I have found to answer a question like that (and
to find interesting answers to questions I did not know I had) is to do a
Google search on 'banat', and then as soon as google starts to come up, I
click on "Image" right above the search box. This results in many pictures
and proves that a picture can be wroth a thousand words, and that much
faster as well! In this case there was an interesting map at
www.banatul.com that shows a square over the Banat, south of Hungary and
extending into Romania; thus not near our area of Zemplen County in
Slovakia.

Hi Glen,

My family came from a little village called Abara in Zemplen County.
Today it is called Oborin and it is in Slovakia. Does that figure into or
near Banat?

years later.

Any known campains between 1700 and 1715? Who prompted them and where

Find an A_H time line on the Internet and it should list
any wars during that period.

Also look for Karl V timeline and Turkish Wars timelines.
