Hello,

I am related to the Autens that came from New York to Michigan--among the
first from New York to Michigan was Ezra Auten and his family in 1834. I
have information about John Brokaw Auten, Grover Auten, James E. Auten, and
many, many more. I have cemetary records of at least 50 Autens that were
buried in our area. I have marriage records for 3 Autens (and death records
for a few) . My great-great-great grandmother was Catherine Auten and my
great-great grandmother was Cora Viola Auten (maiden name).

Your John G. Auten was probably John Grover Auten, right? These aren't my
direct lines but I believe they would be quite close to my lines, at least a
ways back (in New York anyway). I haven't worked on genealogy for a few
months due to limited time but I noticed your post because of the familiar
sounding names that keep being repeated through the generations. Janet in
Michigan
