Hello Everyone

When I was in Edinburgh (Scottish Record Office I think) some
years ago, I copied out some information re a Deed of Discharge (it must
have indicated Saltcoats, Stevenston or Ardrossan - the family `stamping
grounds' - but I didn't note it!). I think it was in a section on Wills and
the like, and for some reason I think the first date refers to a date of
death. I should have some fuller notes somewhere, but they are put away so
carefully that I can't find them! Can anyone tell me what it was for,
please? And is there anything more I can find out?

Deed of Discharge: BRODIE, Alexander (E.M.Coy); Grantee: Hon James Wemyss.
Dated 19 JAN 1799. Registered 21 JAN 1799. (275/161 Dal - the reference no.
I guess)

I think this Alexander BRODIE was my 4xggf.
