I am uncertain as to what your original question was since I subscribe to
the List and a message subject "AYRSHIRE-D Digest V98 #82" is absolutely
meaningless.

But from your message, it would seem that you have misunderstood the basis
of the Ayrshire List. It is, in common with so many other regional and
surname based lists on RootsWeb, a list where family historians exchange
information. Questions and asked and if there is someone on the list who is
competent and willing to offer an answer, they do so - usually to the List
so that everyone sees the answer.

This List is NOT some sort of genealogical slot machine where you put in a
question and out comes the answer.

You are seeking help from others who have spent some of their time in
research and in learning their hobby. But you cannot guarantee that every
question will obtain an answer.

If in doubt, post your question again - but with a subject line that
catches the reader's eye and attracts responses.
