Hi Doug,
I've just recently looked at the Old Parish records for Irvine
on film at my local LDS centre, and even wrote down some baptisms of HUNTERs
there, as I'm looking for one myself. I'm after a Robert HUNTER, born at
Irvine about 1800. There were quite a lot of HUNTERS in the records,
including several Roberts, and as I don't know his parents' names I had no
way of knowing which was the right one. Most of the records gave very
little information. Some examples:
BIRTHS
1762 April
Born Bapt.
4th 30th Robert son of George Hunter of Kirkland and Dorothy Boyd.
1763 Feb.
6th 13th Robert son to Andrew Hunter and Jean Lammy.
MARRIAGES
1812
Mar 14 Robert Hunter in this Parish and Elizabeth Cowan in the Parish of
Kilwinning - 3 days 3rd April - married by me - James Henderson mins. of
Irvine.

There are 2 films covering the Irvine OPRs, film no. 0141383 covers app.
1750-1820, and film no. 1041384 1820-1854. They can be ordered in and
viewed at any LDS centre.
