Thought I'd answer a few of your postings in the one go.
Your e-mails to me about Gemmel's..I have sorted out the research I done for
the American lady and it doesn't at the moment look like there is a
connection, although the surnames are the same.
I have looked at the book 'Largs Buildings, past and present ' and can see
no mention of Mount View. If you have a reference to a Street, I could see
if there is a house by that name on it.
Just a piece useless information for all Gemmell researchers.. there are
nine Gemmell families living in West Kilbride in the 1851 Census, all give
their place of birth as W/K except two families and they were from Ireland.
