Greetings fellow listers
I would like to make contact with any other fellow genealogists who may
have connections to any of the following Ayrshire families that I am
researching on behalf of my wife as well as myself.
My wife's family connections at St Quivox, Galston, Darvel & Loudoun.
CALDWELL - St Quivox & Galston - Earliest known ancestor Allan Caldwell
married to Jane Guthrie. A son John Caldwell married twice, 1802 &
1815, 1st to Mary Morton & then to Agnes McClannachan. A son of the 2nd
marriage, David Caldwell married Isobel Robertson in 1844. A son son
David Caldwell married Margaret Robertson in 1878.
ROBERTSON - Galston - Alexander Robertson married to Jane Taylor. A son
Alexander Robertson married Isobel Miller in 1820 and their 1st daughter
Isobel Robertson married David Caldwell in 1844.
ROBERTSON - Darvel / Loudoun - Thomas Robertson married a Jean Craig in
1837. A daughter Margaret Robertson married a David Caldwell in 1878.
CRAIG - Loudoun - Earliest know ancestor William Craig married Margaret
Smith in 1784. A son James Craig married Janet Mason in 1811 at Galston.
A daughter Jean married Thomas Robertson at Loudoun in 1837.
My family Ayrshire connections from Girvan are as follows:
MCNATTY - Girvan - Earliest know ancestor is James McNatty married to
Jane Morrison. Originally from Ireland, possibly Co. Down. A son
Thomson McNatty married Annie Watson at Girvan in 1857.
WATSON - Girvan - Samuel Watson married Agnes Gordon at Girvan in 1828.
Samuel was also originally from Ireland, place unknown. . A daughter
Annie Watson married Thomson McNatty
[Agnes Gordon apparently was the daughter of Thomas Gordon & Jane Innes
place unknown]
MAIDER - Muirkirk - Any with this family name.
Looking forward to contact with anyone who has connections to any of the
above families.
Regards from Gore, New Zealand.
