Hi listers,
In researching my ggrandfather Robert Strachan and his wife Annie I found
that they were married in Dreghorn(could someone give me a correct
pronounciation phonetically) in 1855. They had four children in Dreghorn:
Margaret b. 25jul1856, Elizabeth Howat b. 26Jun1858, Andrew b. 2Oct1860 and
Jane Walker Strachan b. 7Dec1862. They relocated to Stevenston and had 5
more children but only Elizabeth was living.(according to IGI) I foudn birth
records for the 3 childen but no death records on the SRO. Was there some
kind of epidemic in Dreghorn between 1862 and 1864 which would have accounted
for the deaths of these 3 children?
