I have the record of the marriage for you from the General Record Office
register.
Elizabeth Lyon married Robert Hamilton at St Quivox 25 November 1840.
This is a bit earlier than you thought but they married young in those
days of relatively short life expectancy. I have lots of information on
Lyons in Newton on Ayr (St Quivox) and Ayr. There were two families of
them and there were many common Christian names, so it is a bit
complicated sorting them out. However I am convinced they are all
related. They both called their separate houses "Lyon's Land"
I'll do a little more delving for you and report back.
Regards
Robin Aird
PS I even have some Lyon family photos dating from about 1860s. Some of
them I have as yet been unable to identify. I also have a picture (not
terribly good one) of St Quivox Church. Would you like a JPEG of it?
