Dear list,
In looking for information on my ggrandmother Sarah Steel, Jill McColl kindly
sent me her death intimation in the Ardrossan and Saltcoats Herald dated 8
Sep 1899. There are others listed and I thought someone may find useful
information. Here goes:
BRECKENRIDGE- Lizzie Currie beloved child of William and Mary on the 7th
inst., aged 10 months
GRANT - At the residence of her son-in-law William Ritchie, George Street,
Stevenston, on the 4th, Jeanie Wilson relict of Robert Grant in her 80th year
KERR- At Cross Beith, on the 31st August, William, age 31 years second sonof
Samuel Kerr.
KERR- On 31st of August, of yellow fever at Panama, Andrew Gibson Kerr aged
26 (first officer ship Edenballymore) beloved son of William and Izabel Kerr,
Izavelle, Stevenston
LYON- At Ayr District Asylum on the 1st Isabella Gossip aged 60 years beloved
wife of T.S. Lyon Shore Road Stevenston
MENZIES- At Lynn Street, Dalry, on the 2nd William Goodley aged 3 months
beloved son of John and Janet Menzies
M'DOWELL- At 66 Raise Street Saltcoats on the 1st, Maggie milleer, belovd
wife of A.B.M'Dowell
SCOTT- At 20 Morgan STreet, Govanbill, Glasgow on the 4th, Jeanie Scott
daughter of the late Thomas Scott, Muikirk
STARK- At Glasgow on the 3rd, Wee Jack ofn of William and Annie Stark,
Parkend Road, Saltcoats, aged 7 months
STEEL- At 1 Arthur Street, Saltcoats on the 3rd, Sarah Roadman, wife of
Thomas Steel in her 51st year.
WATSON- At the hospital Kilwinning on the 27th August, Robert Watson,
jun.,Lyleston aged 31 years
IN MEMORIAM
HUNTER- In memory of John Laidlaw Hunter beloved son of John Hunter, New
Cumnock, who died at Belvedere Hospital, Glasgow on 7th Sept 1898
SINCLAIR- In loving memory of our daughter Agnes, who died at Manse Lodge,
Saltcoats, Sept 10 1898 aed 3 years and 4 months, granddaughter of the late
Wm. Watt, joiner.
