I've only recently begun researching my family history and I would
appreciate any information or suggestions for further research for the
following people. (I've already checked IGI and Scots Origins.)

Alexander BUCHANAN, age 23, ploughman, residing on Portland Street, Troon,
married Elizabeth MOFFAT, age 29, domestic servant, residing at 8 Rosslyn
Terrace, Kelvinside, at 102 Parson Street, Glasgow (Warrant of sheriff
substitute of Lanarkshire), on the sixteenth of June, 1885.

Alexander's parents were: Alexander BUCHANAN, ship carpenter journeyman,
and Janet BUCHANAN (maiden name also BUCHANAN). For the moment, I'm
assuming they lived in Ayrshire since their son was living in Troon (perhaps
a bad error?)

Elizabeth's parents were: Robert MOFFAT, shipbuilder's labourer, and
Elizabeth SKELLY. The parents were married in the Parish of Dundonald,
County of Ayr, on March 7, 1851. I have no other information.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Bill Rankin
