The majority of my Scottish lines, whilst using 'family' names, didn't
stick rigidly to the 'naming tradition' I keep reading about. Despite
this, as you said, there are lots of cousins with the same name, which
makes for fun when researching!

Perhaps I'm just descended from a lot of contrary people?!
