James Dunlop travels on to Queensland Where he meets Thomas McMurtie his
father was a Baker in Fenwick.before he moved to Crosshouse. Mr.William
McIlwraith he is a native of Ayr and is married to a sister of Sir Thomas
McILwraith and was on the staff of Kilmarnock Standard for two or three
years and editor of Dumfries Courier for 10 years has been in AUST. for
38years (This was in 1912) Mr. McIwraiths partner is Mr. John Blair whose
father was a watchmaker in Ayr. Samuel George who's father was an Engineman
in one of Finnies Pits Samuel worked for the railway in Ayr.Mr. Daniel Craig
son of the late James Craig of Monktonhill he bears a striking resemblance
to Mr. John Craig Innergeldie. John McLatchey inquired did I know his Uncle
Dr. McLatchey who had died 34 years ago and he had not heard of the family
since.
Meet Dr. Cook who practised sometime in Stewarttown. Mr. John A. Gavin of
Winton the eldest son of Mr. Gavin the manager of Dalemellington Iron Co. he
came out in 1881 Another Ayrshire man was George Neil Dougal was reared at
Newmins with his Uncle Mr. James Howat. Mr. Michael Cochrane and his wife
Nee Martha Stevenson of Bogside Monkton brother of John Cochrane and reared
at Nether Craig trained in the Royal Bank Kilmarnock under Mr. Brockie.
James Allison son of Mr. Allison late U.P. Minister of Prestwick and nephew
to the late James Allison of Cauldwakening. . Betty
