Hi,
I too had trouble finding a marriage in England. My Father-in-Law was
insistent that his grandparents were married in England before they moved to
Scotland. I eventually found their marriage certificate in the Scottish
records and when I checked the 1891 census for them I found that he had also
moved his elderly parents from England to Scotland! It's worth a try. The
longest distance I have in my family is my Great Grandfather who was born in
Devon, married in London and eventually landed up near Aberdeen.
Good luck.
Jacqueline

aunt moved from Cornwall to Scotland in the 1870s and married there. I have
an unidentified 19th century family photo taken by J. Ballantine of Cumnock
and I believe my gt gt aunt may be in this group photo. Can any one tell me
if there was a movement from industrial Cornwall to the Cumnock area of
Scotland during this period?

was living in the Hayle area in the 1860s. I cannot find her in the 1871
Census under her maiden name, and cannot find her marriage in England/Wales.
