I was saddened to hear of the passing of Iain Kerr. He very kindly shared
information with me on occasion, as he did for many others. His generosity
and knowledge will be missed.

"Fenwick October 20th 1839

The united assoceate Session met and was Constituted by Rev William Orr
Moderator were present along with him John & Thomas Taylor David Dunlop
Alexr Watt Robert Lindsay John & Alexr Gemmill William & James Young John
Clachan James Boyd and James Dunlop

The Moderator Stated to the Session that Mathew Dunlop had been going
through a Course of Examination with him in the vew of becoming a Member of
the Church and had Requested to be admited now as he was Going to Glasgow to
prosecute business there for Some time the Moderator Recommended him to the
to the Session with Respect to his knowledge and the Session finding nothing
against his morall Character agreed to admit him according to his Request
just now and he was admited accordingly and Granted to him a Certificate The
Session appointed John & Thomas Taylor and Alexr Watt a Committee to make
enquirey into the morall Character of David Walker who has been making
applecation to be taken under Church Disipline and membership and Report to
the Session
