"Fenwick Jany 14th 1840

The united assoceate Session met and was Constituted by the Rev William Orr
Moderator with praise and prayer and was Succeded in the Same Excercies by
John Dunlop were present along with them Thomas Taylor David Dunlop Alexr
Watt John & Alexander Gemmill William Young John Clachan James Boyd & James
Dunlop The Session entred on the Consideration of John Youngs Case and after
some Conversation on the Case the Session agreed to and appointed Thomas
Taylor & Alexd Gemmill a Committee to Converse with him and to Request him
to attend the next monthly meetting of Session and they are to Report to the
Session Robert Woodburn & William Alexanders Cases Remains the Same as far
as known to the Session and both Committees is Reappointed Compeared Robert
Alexander and Margret Mure and acknowledged themselves guilty of fornication
and after a few questions put to them by the moderator on the nature of Sin
the Session was Satisfied with there ansures and ordered them to appear
before the Congregation on the 4 Sabbath of this month to be Rebucked for
the Sin of which they have acknowledged themselves guilty and appointed John
Clachan William & James Young along with the moderator a Committee to
Converse with them and Report to the Session it was Reported to the Session
that Alen Galt Sent had been guilty of some improprites of Conduct on the 17
of Decb last in the house of Alexr Borland Fenwick and on the road between
Fenwick & Stewarton in assaulting and abuseing David Black belonging to
Stewarton The Session appointed Robert Lindsay James Boyd John & Alexd
Gemmill a Committee to make enquiry into the Circumstances of the Case and
to Converse with him on the above Subject and as far as practable to make
enquirey into Some aledged improprities of Conduct Regarding Mrs Galt his
wife and Report to the Session it was reported to the Session that Alen
Foulds had been the worse of liquor on the first day of the new year the
Session appointed Alexd Watt to Converse with him and Report to the Session
Read over the poors Roll and made Some observations on those Standing in
need to aid likewise agreed to give to James Ritchie from 6/ to 8/ for this
month as Thomas Taylor finds him in need
