Hello Moira,
The information that I have on Janet FREW and James SMITH is:
Marriage: July 18, 1843 Kilmarnock
Children:
Margaret Grieve SMITH: c. Feb 1 1846 Kilmarnock
Ann Smith: b. Nov 13, 1850 Kilmarnock
Janet Smith b. Aug 23, 1853 Kilmarnock
Elizabeth Grieve Smith: b. Mar 6 1856 Kilmarnock
Alexander Smith b. June 21, 1858 Kilmarnock
I will add your George b. 1843 into the family, but have to this point
unfortunately
been unable to trace the birth of your ggg grandmother Janet Frew.
Do you have any other children born to them other than what I have??
Does the middle name used: GRIEVE have any meaning to you?
It could be of use.
With regards,
Linda..

I have recently obtained a copy of my ggrandparents marriage certificate and
it states that the parents of my ggrandfather, GEORGE SMITH, who was born
in Kilmarnock in 1843, were JAMES SMITH & JANET FREW. I wonder if they
were married in Kilmarnock? There are Janet Frew's in the area but I am
unable to tie any to a James Smith. Can anyone help?
