Caleb was neither the chief of clan MacFarlane nor a son of any of the chiefs (who were extant in Scotland until 1866). That is not to say that he was not descended from one of them, however in 35 years of research into the chiefs I have never found a son, grandson, or great-grandson named Caleb.

If I ever come across him I shall post another reply here, and in the meantime if you still want to know the genealogy of the chiefs of clan MacFarlane I can provide it.
